a stylish 4th of July

I somehow landed on doing some thread crochet. I'm not sure what book inspired this, or if the upcoming 4th of July inspired me to open up a pattern book....but there is a book inspiration somewhere in there. I read Betty Hechtman's By Hook or by Crook, which has a crochet pattern in back for a filet crochet bookmark. I have known about filet crochet, but have never tried it. So I was getting geared up to try crocheting a filet crochet bookmark, then ended up settling on a favorite pineapple thread crochet bookmark pattern instead, which lead me to opening up my snowflake pattern book. So, now I have 3 little snowflakes done up in the flag colors. I was trying to think of what I could do with these, aside from just blocking and hanging them up, especially since I do not have all my blocking materials yet. I decided to take a strip of elastic and stitch the flakes onto it to create a 4th of July bracelet! I will enjoy wearing it tomorrow during our festivities!
