moxie 2 button short dress crochet pattern
Created by paperdoll mom, Copyright 2014
Materials needed: Patons Kroy Sock Yarn and a size 2 hook, and 2 pony beads (or other buttons of similar size)
-chain 33, DC in second chain from the hook and DC across the rest of the row, chain 2, turn
-DC in first stitch, DC in second stich while adding the pony bead onto the hook before pushing the hook into the stitch (if this is too confusing for you, you can also just do a regular DC and stitch on the pony bead or button after you complete the dress), DC across the rest of the row until you get to the second to last stitch, chain 1 and skip this second to last stitch, then DC in the last stitch (this creates the button hole for the pony bead), chain 2, turn
-DC across the row, chain 2, turn
-DC across the row while adding 1 DC 4 times (this means instead of 1 DC in a stitch, you will do 2) spaced out throughout the row, chain 2, turn
-DC in first stitch, chain 1, skip the second stitch, then DC in the next 4 stitches, chain 5, skip the next 5 stitches, then DC across the row for 14 stitches, chain 5, skip the next 5 stitches, and DC in the next 4 stitches, in the next stitch you will once again add the pony bead onto the hook within your DC, then DC in the last stitch, chain 1, turn
-SC across the row while decreasing 1 stitch 3 times near the middle
-slip stitch down one side of the back of the dress until you get to the bottom, now you will be working along the bottom of the section you just crocheted
-chain 2, DC across the row while adding 1 stitch 8 times spaced out throughout the row
-now you will begin to work in rounds, starting with combing the first 3 and last 3 stitches of the row (so that they overlap, making sure that your button holes are on the outside top section); you will be doing a total of 6 DC rounds
-finish off
