moxie dress crochet pattern

With Moxie Girlz dolls having the rubber click knees and similar type arms, I will have to stray from my usual clothing designs that just pull up the body...

Materials needed: Patons Kroy Sock Yarn, size 2 hook, and buttons, snaps, or pony beads

please read the pattern through to the end, especially the *, so that you can understand how to add buttons if that is what you desire; button holes are not written within the pattern itself

-chain 37, DC in second chain from the hook

-DC across the row, and DC for 4 more rows (a total of 5 rows), making sure to chain 2 and turn at the end of each

-DC across the row while decreasing 1 stitch 4 times throughout the row, chain 2, turn

-3 more rows of DC, making sure to chain 2 and turn at the end of each

-DC across the row while increasing 1 stitch 4 times throughout the row, chain 2, turn

-DC in the first 6 sts, chain 6, skip 6 stitches, DC in the following stitch and 11 more sts, chain 6, skip the next 6 stitches, and DC in the very last 6 sts, chain 1, turn

-SC across the row while decreasing 1 stitch 3 times near the middle of the row

-cut your end yarn long enough to use to fasten the buttons, snaps, or pony beads down the back

*button holes: I tried to put a button hole in the first and last DC rows, and every third row. This dress ended with 5 pony beads, which may have been okay with 4. To make the button hole, just chain 1 instead of DC into the second to last sts of the row (making sure to skip that sts), then DC in the last stitch. So basically your button hole consists of a missing DC stitch near the end of the row. I did not write the button holes into the pattern, instead just eyeball it and place them where you see fit, or else you can leave out the button holds and sew on snaps or even Velcro. I used pony beads for buttons, as I have a ton of them in my house. If you use a button, just make sure to stitch the button at the opposite side of the dress to line up with each button hole. If this confuses you and you have any questions, please feel free to ask, I will do my best to explain.
