Kristoff matching hat and pants crochet pattern

Created by paperdollmom, Copyright 2014

Materials: Patons Kroy Sock Yarn and a size 2 hook

PANTS

Pant Legs (make 2, and do not finish off the second pant leg)

-chain 32, sc in the first chain you made

-sc around for 33 rows (this will be 33 rows of 32 sts)

Hips

-after the second pant leg, immediately continue to crochet by slip stitching the two pant legs together in 8 stitches at the top of each leg

-now start to sc around both legs, this first round should end up at 49 sts

-continue to sc around for 10 more rows

-on the 12th row of the hips, decrease 3 sts at the back of the pants

-finish off

HAT

-chain 2, sc in the first chain you made

-crochet 5 more sc into the same chain (total of 6 sc in that first chain you made)

-you should now have 7 sts around (I am including the second chain I made as the 7th sc)

-now do 2 sc in each stitch around

-next row sc in the next 3 sts, 2 sc in the fourth stitch, complete this pattern around

-repeat the last step for the next row

-now sc around for 5 rows

-the very last row you will need to crochet sc in the first 4 sts, chain 1, turn, and sc again in the same 4 sts, chain 1, combineall 4 sts into 1 sc (so you are losing 3 sc now), then slip stitch down the ear flap back to the original row

-sc in the following 7 sts

-repeat the steps to create the second ear flap

-complete the original row, sc in the remaining stitches

-finish off

-now you can cut some strands of yarn to feed through the ends of the ear flaps, braid them and tie a not to create hat ties

-you can also cut some yarn strands and tie them to the top of the hat to create a small pom pom, be sure to cut the pom pom and the ends of the ties evenly before fraying them a bit with your fingers
