Created by paperdollmom, Copyright 2014

Materials: Patons Kroy Sock Yarn, a size 2 hook, and 1 pony bead

-chain 27, DC in the second chain from the hook

-DC across the row for a total of 2 rows (chain 2 and turn at the end of each)

-DC in the first stitch, chain 1, skip the next stitch, DC in the following 3 stitches, chain 3, skip the next 3 sts (you have now just created the button hole and the first arm hole), DC in the next 10 sts, chain 3, skip the next 3 sts, DC in the following 3 sts, DC in the next stitch while adding the pony bead onto your hook, DC in the last stitch, chain 1, turn

-SC across the row while decreasing 1 stitch 2 times in the middle of the row

-slip stitch down the edge of the top until you get to the bottom, begin to SC across the bottom now with this pattern: SC in 2 stitches, chain 2, then chain 2 at the end of the row and turn

-DC across the row

-now you will overlap the sides so that 3 stitches on each end of the row are overlapping (make sure you do this in a way so that the button hole and button are on the correct sides in the right placement);  you will treat each of the overlapped stitches as 1 stitch now (so the 6 stitches become 3); chain 2 and begin to DC around

-DC around 4 more rounds (total of 5 rounds), make sure to slip stitch the last DC of the round to the first, and chain 2 at the end of each round

-finish off
