Materials needed: Patons Stretchy Sock yarn and a size 1 hook
-starting at the bottom chain 19
-sc in second chain from the hook
-continue to sc across for a total of 5 rows (making sure to ch 1 and turn at the end of each row)
-sc in 4 stitches, chain 7, sc in 10 stitches, chain 7, sc in last 4 stitches (these new chains are the start of sleeves), chain 1, turn
-sc in 3 stitches, decrease in 1 stitch in next 2 stitches, sc in next 15 stitches, decrease 1 stitch in next 2 stitches, sc in next 5 stitches, decrease 1 stitch in next 2 stitches, sc in last 3 stitches (make sure you sc across the loops you made for the sleeves in the previous step), chain 1, turn
-last row, sc across while decreasing 1 stitch in the very middle of the row
-do not finish off yet, now slip stitch the back of the dress closed, starting at the top
-once you have slip stitched the dress closed, now you will be working in rounds at the bottom
-sc in stitch, chain 3, repeat across to create a ruffle appearance
-you can stop after one row of ruffle and finish off for a cute top, or continue on to create a party dress
-after the first row of ruffle, sc in each stitch around for 3 more rows
-you can stop and finish off for the party dress, or continue sc around to make a longer dress
-finish off when you've crocheted to the length you desire

The party dress and pants can be combined for a fun new look as well!
